Framed as a story told by the Shinigami Ryuk to a fellow death god, this feature-length film recounts the intense psychological war between genius student Light Yagami — who gains the power to kill anyone by writing their name in the Death Note — and the eccentric world-renowned detective L, who vows to unmask the mysterious serial killer known as "Kira."
